The problem

A leading global pharmaceutical company needed to translate a complex document from English to Japanese within a tight timeframe due to site activation activities and local regulatory submissions.

Linguamatics encountered several obstacles: the complexity and size of the document, which included 158 slides of graphs, images, and tables, totalling 20,400 words; the necessity to translate from the Latin alphabet to Japanese characters; and the time zone differences between the client, primarily located in the EU and Americas, and the delivery team, based in the APAC region.

The solution

Linguamatics implemented a proactive approach to address these challenges. A dedicated project manager facilitated clear communication between the delivery team and the client, ensuring a smooth workflow and managing expectations. The delivery team comprised of life sciences experts and experienced linguists, who provided regular updates and maintained high-quality work throughout the project.

All of this was piloted through our life-sciences dedicated language technology framework, bringing enhanced efficiencies to both turnaround, cost and quality management.

Results

To meet the deadline requirements, Linguamatics introduced an innovative workflow, achieving a 30% reduction in comparison to industry standards. Further optimization resulted in an impressive 55.5% time reduction, without sacrificing quality

This accomplishment not only solidified the relationship with the client but also demonstrated Linguamatics' unwavering commitment to excellence. It emphasized Linguamatics’ ability to deliver swift and high-quality translations, highlighting the importance of patient-centricity in medical translations, ultimately contributing to more effective and safer treatments for patients with multiple myeloma.
